Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 15
Claim 1
Independent Claim 52 words
A resin blend comprising a copolymer of ethylene and alpha, beta-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids and an effective amount of a poly-2-oxazoline so that there is a detectable difference in bond strength between the copolymer resin without the poly-2-oxazoline and the copolymer resin with the poly-2-oxazoline with respect to the same substrate material.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 52 words
A resin blend comprising a copolymer of ethylene and alpha, beta-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids and an effective amount of a poly-2-oxazoline so that there is a detectable difference in bond strength between the copolymer resin without the poly-2-oxazoline and the copolymer resin with the poly-2-oxazoline with respect to the same substrate material.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 30 words
The resin blend of claim 1 comprising from about 60 to about 99 weight percent of the copolymer and from about 1 to about 40 weight percent of the poly-2-oxazoline.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 22 words
The resin blend of claim 1 wherein the poly-2-oxazoline is present in an amount from about 2 to about 20 weight percent.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 13 words
The resin blend of claim 1 wherein the poly-2-oxazoline is an unhydrolyzed poly-2-oxazoline.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 11 words
The resin blend of claim 4 wherein the polyoxazoline is poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline).
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 13 words
The resin blend of claim 1 wherein the copolymer is ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 17 words
The resin blend of claim 1 having increased environmental stress crack resistance over that of the copolymer.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 9 words
The resin blend of claim 1 in particulate form.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 12 words
The resin blend of claim 1 in the form of a film.
Claim 11
Independent Claim 42 words
A method of enhancing the adhesion of a copolymer of ethylene and alpha beta-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid to a substrate and/or improving the enviromental stress crack resistance of said copolymer which comprises incorporating into the copolymer an effective amount of a poly-2-oxazoline.
Claim 12
Independent Claim 42 words
A method of enhancing the adhesion of a copolymer of ethylene and alpha beta-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid to a substrate and/or improving the enviromental stress crack resistance of said copolymer which comprises incorporating into the copolymer an effective amount of a poly-2-oxazoline.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 34 words
The method of claim 10 wherein the poly-2-oxazoline is added in an amount within the range of from about 2 to about 20 weight percent based on the total weight of copolymer and poly-2-oxazoline.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 10 words
The method of claim 10 wherein the polyoxazoline is poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline).
Claim 15
Dependent Claim 18 words
The method of claim 10 wherein the poly-2-oxazoline is poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) and the copolymer is an ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer.
