Abstract
Abstract Described are the 4-cyclooctenyl alkyl carbonates defined according to the structure: ##STR1## wherein R 4 is methyl or ethyl, reaction products including a major proportion of said 4-cyclooctenyl alkylcarbonates and a minor proportion of bicyclooctanyl carbonates having the structures: ##STR2## wherein R 5 is methyl or ethyl, and uses thereof in augmenting or enhancing the aroma of perfume compositions, colognes and perfumed articles such as solid or liquid anionic, cationic, nonionic or Zwitterionic detergents, fabric softeners, fabric softener articles, hair sprays, shampoos, bath oils and perfumed polymers.
