Abstract The present invention is related to compositions containing isocyanatosilanes as additives to increase the stability in storage of liquid or pasty, clear or pigmented compositions containing polyurethane prepolymers with free isocyanate groups and optionally containing solvents.

A liquid or pasty, clear or pigmented composition comprising: (a) a polyurethane prepolymer having free isocyanate groups, (b) an isocyanatosilane corresponding to the formula R.sub.n Si(NCO)'.sub.4-n wherein R denotes an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms and R represents 0 or an integer from 1 to 3 in an amount sufficient to increase the storage stability of said composition and, optionally, (c) a solvent which is inert towards isocyanate groups.

A liquid or pasty, clear or pigmented composition comprising: (a) a polyurethane prepolymer having free isocyanate groups, (b) an isocyanatosilane corresponding to the formula R.sub.n Si(NCO)'.sub.4-n wherein R denotes an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms and R represents 0 or an integer from 1 to 3 in an amount sufficient to increase the storage stability of said composition and, optionally, (c) a solvent which is inert towards isocyanate groups.
