Abstract
Abstract An improved integral multilayer analytical element for the assay of total protein contained in liquid sample. The element comprises a transparent support on which a reagent layer and a spreading layer are superposed. The feature of the element exists in the reagent layer comprising potassium sodium tartarate, a cupric salt, a basic compound providing a pH in excess of about 12.0 in the element under conditions of use thereof, an alkali-proof polymer and an alkali metal ion complexing agent.
