Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 83 words
A method for enhancing the activity of an inorganic oxide material, which comprises contacting said material with a fluoride reagent selected from the group consisting of ammonium fluoride and boron fluoride at a temperature of from about 0° C. to about 100° C., contacting said fluoride reagent contacted material with an aqueous ammonium exchange solution and thereafter calcining said material at a temperature of from about 200° C. to about 600° C. in order to obtain an inorganic oxide material having enhanced activity.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 83 words
A method for enhancing the activity of an inorganic oxide material, which comprises contacting said material with a fluoride reagent selected from the group consisting of ammonium fluoride and boron fluoride at a temperature of from about 0° C. to about 100° C., contacting said fluoride reagent contacted material with an aqueous ammonium exchange solution and thereafter calcining said material at a temperature of from about 200° C. to about 600° C. in order to obtain an inorganic oxide material having enhanced activity.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 14 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said inorganic oxide material is alumina or gallia.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 24 words
The method of claim 2 wherein said aqueous ammonium exchange solution is selected from the group consisting of ammonium hydroxide and an ammonium salt.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 23 words
The method of claim 3 wherein said ammonium salt is selected from the group consisting of ammonium nitrate, ammonium sulfate and ammonium chloride.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 31 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said inorganic oxide material is calcined prior to contact with the fluoride reagent at a temperature of from about 200° C. to about 600° C.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 19 words
An inorganic oxide material having enhanced activity prepared by the method of claim 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 22 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said fluoride reagent contacting is at a temperature of from about ambient to about 50° C.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 10 words
The method of claim 2 wherein said alumina is gamma-alumina.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 16 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said inorganic oxide material is in the form of beads.
