Abstract

Abstract A lubricant concentrate is provided for forming stable, translucent oil-in-water emulsions upon dilution with a major part of water. The concentrate comprises a suitable base oil blended with polyisobutylene and an emulsifier/dispersant and antiwear/antirust inhibitor system. Typical emulsifier/dispersants include the metal soaps of rosin acids, the alkylene oxide condensation products of a fatty amine or the reaction product thereof with a polyalkenylsuccinic acid or anhydride. Zinc dialkyldithiophosphates and metal dialkylnaphthalene sulfonates are useful antiwear and antirust inhibitors.
