An electrophotographic light-sensitive element comprising a conductive support having thereon a light-sensitive layer comprising at least one hydrazone compound having the following formula: ##STR5## wherein R 1 is selected from the group consisting of an aryl group and a substituted aryl group; R 2 is selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a substituted alkyl group, an aryl group and a substituted aryl group; and X and Y are each selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, a substituted alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a substituted alkoxy group, an amino group, a substituted amino group, a nitro group and a cyano group.
