An aromatic polycarbonate chain terminated with a residue having a structure of the Formula ##STR9## wherein R is cycloalkyl of four to seven ring carbon atoms, inclusive, or methyl substituted cycloalkyl of four to seven ring carbon atoms, inclusive, wherein from one to three hydrogen atoms of the cycloalkyl group are replaced by a methyl group.
