Abstract
Abstract A method and apparatus for evaluating the condition of the heart muscle utilizing a single roughly collimated radiation detector which is non-critically positioned over the heart muscle. A small amount of radioactive material is injected into the bloodstream and detected during the first transit through the heart. The background radiation level is empirically derived from, and may be utilized to correct, the aforementioned first transit data. Numerous parameters affecting the heart muscle may be determined by analysis of the resultant data.
