Abstract An electrophotographic photosensitive member having a layer containing at least one compound represented by the formula <IMAGE> wherein X1 represents a residue necessary for completing a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon ring; X2 represents a residue necessary for completing a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic ring; R1, R2, R3, and A each represent hydrogen, alkyl, aralkyl, or aryl, substituted or unsubstituted; and m is 0 or 1.
