A composition comprising a particulate porous chlorinated vinyl chloride polymer having a density in the range of from about 1.46 to about 1.65 grams/cc at 25° C., from about 5% to about 65% by volume of porespace, and a chlorine content in the range of from about 60% to about 72% by weight, a primary stabilizer other than a metal salt of phosphoric acid for said chlorinated vinyl chloride polymer uniformly dispersed throughout said composition of matter, and a metal salt of phosphoric acid uniformly dispersed throughout said composition of matter.
