Abstract
Abstract The instant invention relates to improved roofing materials which are a blend composition of a bitumen, a neutralized sulfonated polymer, and a filler, wherein the concentration level of the neutralized sulfonated polymer is about 5 to about 25 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the bitumen, more preferably about 7 to about 20, and the concentration level of the filler is about 0 to about 100 parts by weight per 100 parts of the bitumen. The improved roofing material based on such a composition has excellent stability towards oxidation, is U.V. stable and has good resistance to creep.
