Abstract A urethane resin comprising the reaction product of a C 4 -C 8 alkylenediisocyanate as an isocyanate component and a C 3 -C 12 alkyleneglycol as a polyol component is used as a rubber component for a binder in a magnetic layer of a magnetic recording medium.
