An electrophotographic device comprising: an image-holding member for forming an electrostatic image thereon; means for forming a toner image on said image-holding member; means for transferring the toner image from said image-holding member to a recording material; means for cleaning the surface of said image-holding member to remove the remaining toner thereon after the transfer of the toner image; and means for abrading the surface of said image-holding member to prevent the buildup of excess toner thereon after the cleaning of the image-holding member, said means including an abrasive member comprising a support and a layer overlying the support, said layer being formed of a resin having a linear structure and abrasive particles dispersed therein.
