Abstract
Abstract A modified hydrogenated star-shaped polymer comprising a nucleus, e.g., divinylbenzene, with polymeric arms linked to it is prepared by grafting a hydrogenated star-shaped polymer with a nitrogen-containing polymerizable polar organic compound, e.g., 2-vinylpyridine or 4-vinylpyridine. Such polymers are useful as viscosity index improvers for lube oil compositions, and also possess dispersancy.
