Abstract
Abstract An alkali metal, such as sodium, sulfur cell having an alkali metal anode, a solid ionic electrolyte, such as sodium β alumina, and a liquid catholyte formed by sulfur, a halosulfane, such as sulfur monochloride and a haloacid, such as aluminum chloride, is described.
