Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 35 words
In a process for extracting organic materials from oil shale or tar sand by contacting the same with an organic extractant, the improvement wherein said organic extractant is an aliphatic amide comprisng the moiety ##STR2##
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 35 words
In a process for extracting organic materials from oil shale or tar sand by contacting the same with an organic extractant, the improvement wherein said organic extractant is an aliphatic amide comprisng the moiety ##STR2##
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 31 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said amide is represented by the formula: ##STR3## where R 1 , R 2 and R 3 comprise in total 4 to 20 carbon atoms.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 42 words
The process of claim 2 wherein at least two of R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are aliphatic groups, with the proviso that R 3 is an aliphatic group but one of R 1 or R 2 can be hydrogen.
