Abstract The compound 2,3-dichloro-2-trifluoromethyl-1,1,1,3,4,4,5,5,5-nonafluoropentane is obtained by chlorinating perfluoro(2-methyl-2-pentene) with elementary chlorine in the presence of light rich in energy. This compound is distinguished by a high thermal and chemical stability.
