Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 13
Claim 1
Independent Claim 95 words
A process for producing a laminate by the adhesion of the surface of silicone rubber to polyurethane consisting of rendering the surface of silicone rubber adhesive to polyurethane by contacting the silicone rubber with a gas plasma for from 10 seconds to 20 minutes at subatmospheric pressure, wherein said gas plasma is selected from the group consisting of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, air and helium gas plasmas, and, within about 60 minutes of the end of said contacting, bringing the silicone rubber in pressure contact with polyurethane whereby the polyurethane adheres to the silicone rubber.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 95 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 21 words
A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein the nitrogen atoms of said polyurethane are bonded directly to aliphatic carbon atoms.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 19 words
A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein the said pressure is from 0.1 to torr to 100 torr.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 17 words
A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein the said pressure is from 0.1 to 10 torr.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 24 words
A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein the silicone rubber is exposed to the gas plasma for from 30 seconds to 10 minutes.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 37 words
A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein the silicone rubber is brought in pressure contact with the polyurethane within about 1 minute of the end of the contacting of the silicone rubber with the gas plasma.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 13 words
A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein said gas plasma is oxygen.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 13 words
A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein said gas plasma is nitrogen.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 14 words
A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein said gas plasma is carbon dioxide.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 13 words
A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein said gas plasma is air.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 13 words
A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein said laminate is optically clear.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 18 words
A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein said laminate is in the form of a protective mask.
