Abstract

Abstract An extended vision control device or accessory for selective attachable-detachable use with visual aid instruments such as binoculars, or monocular optical telescopes and the like, to enhance both visual tracking and radio control movement of mobile vehicles, such as model or miniature target tanks, trucks and the like. This accessory control device includes at least one housing for finger-operable controls, each housing adaptable for removable mounting upon a visual aid sighting instrument by means of quick attachable-detachable fasteners, and each housing further includes a control lever and an electrical conductor cable connectable with various of commercially available radio wave transmitter units having one or more sets of selector control devices, to thereby enhance movement observation and continuing radio-controlled operation of the device with which it is associated.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 251 words
A miniature self-propelled vehicle adapted to be remotely controlled with auxiliary extended-vision control means, and having: a. propulsion means along each of two sides to engage a supporting surface, b. two electric motors connected to drive the propulsion means, one motor connected to the propulsion means at one of said two sides of the vehicle and the other motor connected to the propulsion means at the other of said two sides of the vehicle, and the motor connections being independent of each other, c. an electrical energy cell, d. switchgear for each motor including a proportional speed control connected to receive electrical energy from the energy cell and to transmit electrical energy to its motor, e. a signal processor connected with the proportional speed control to determine the direction of rotation and the angular velocity of the electric motor, said processor adapted to receive and respond to radio signals, f. a radio transmitter for broadcasting radio signals to said processor, the transmitter having two sets of selector devices, one for each motor, to select for each motor the direction of rotation and the angular velocity thereof, and g. extended-vision control means comprising an auxiliary control device cooperable with a visual aid instrument and electrically connected to the radio transmitter, whereby an operator in remote control of the vehicle also personally observes the vehicle by means of the visual aid instrument and thereby personally directs the vehicle via said auxiliary control device in accordance with observations made by means of said instrument.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 251 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 72 words
A vehicle as in claim 1, wherein the auxiliary control device is cooperable with a binocular visual aid two-element instrument and comprises two saddle-shaped housings each of which includes control means electrically connectable to said radio transmitter, and each of which is adapted to straddle one of the binocular elements, and a quick-detachable securing means on each housing whereby the housing and its securing means are adapted to envelop the associated element.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 45 words
A vehicle as in claim 2, the securing means therein comprising a strap of which one end is secured to one side of each housing, and a terminal secured to the other side of the housing and cooperable with the remaining end of the strap.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 52 words
A vehicle as in claim 1, wherein said auxiliary control device of paragraph (g) comprises at least one housing for a control means the latter of which is electrically connectable to said radio transmitter, and further comprises quick-attachable and quick-detachable securing means for removably attaching said housing to said visual aid instrument.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 154 words
An auxiliary radio control accessory retrofit device adaptable for use simultaneously with commercially available image magnification visual aid instrument housings, such as binoculars and telescopes, and for use with commercially available model radio transmitter units having suitable control circuits therein, to provide extended visual operating range and enhanced operating control of various radio-controlled vehicles and the like, said accessory retrofit device comprising a. at least one housing for a finger-operable control means contained therein which is electrically connectable via conductor wire means to a said radio transmitter unit, b. fastener means of the quick-attachment and quick-detachment character attached with each said housing for selectively securing each of said housings onto said visual aid instrument, and c. the electrical conductor wire means extending from said housing-enclosed control means having a free terminal end with connector means to readily facilitate the electrical connection with corresponding connections of an appropriate control circuit in said radio transmitter unit.
