Abstract
Abstract An electron discharge device includes an envelope with a primary electrode and substances for forming a photocathode therein. A photocurrent collector is provided which is electrically insulated from the photocathode and the primary electrode. The photocurrent collector is independent of the electrical leakage between the photocathode and the primary electrode encountered during formation of the photocathode and permits the sensitivity of the photocathode to be maximized.
