Abstract

Abstract A supported receptor for use in an assay for a ligand in which the solid support includes a water insoluble polymer including at least one functional group which is either carboxyl, isothiocyanate, N-hydroxysuccinimide, imidazolide, bromoacetyl, maleimide, or diazomethylene, with the receptor being covalently linked to the support through the functional group. The preferred support is a particulate support including an impervious non-porous core and an outer porous coating having the water insoluble polymer, including the aforesaid functional groups, adhering thereto.
