Abstract
Abstract The present invention relates to novel derivatives of the anthracycline type anticancer drug daunomycin which are characterized by improved anticancer activity and by reduced toxicity compared with daunomycin itself. The novel compounds are amino acid or peptidyl derivatives of daunomycin. The invention further relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing such derivatives as active ingredients.
