Abstract
Abstract The thiazepino-[4,3-b]-isoquinoline-1,5-diones of the formula: ##STR1## where R 1 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, alkoxy of 1 to 6 carbon atoms or halo; R 2 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms or phenyl; and R 3 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 3 carbon atoms and the open ring 3-carboxy isoquinoline precursors inhibit angiotensin converting enzyme and are useful anti-hypertensive agents.
