Abstract

Abstract The invention alloy has the following by-weight composition: ______________________________________ carbon 0.05 to 0.60% nickel 20 to 55% chromium 15 to 40% silicon 0.5 to 2% manganese 0.5 to 2% nitrogen 0.03 to 0.20% niobium 0 to 2% tungsten and/or molybdenum 0 to 5% aluminium 2 to 8% copper 0 to 5% iron and usual impurities in as small quantities as the balance possible ______________________________________ an increased resistance to carburization is obtained by endogenous formation of a barrier opposing the penetration of aluminium.
