Abstract This invention relates to copolymerizable ultraviolet light absorber compounds having the formula: ##STR1## where R is hydrogen or alkyl C 1 -C 6 ; and Y is a copolymerizable radical selected from acryloyl C 3 -C 12 , acryloyloxyalkyl C 3 -C 12 , acryloyloxyhydroxyalkyl C 3 -C 12 , and alkylacryloyloxyhydroxyalkyl C 3 -C 12 .
