Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim
51 words
A method of attaching a water soluble single crystal of pyroelectric material to a wettable insulating substrate; comprising the steps of forming a thin film of water on the substrate, placing the crystal on the substrate with the film of water thereon, and removing the excess water to produce the bond.
Claim 2
Independent Claim
51 words
A method of attaching a water soluble single crystal of pyroelectric material to a wettable insulating substrate; comprising the steps of forming a thin film of water on the substrate, placing the crystal on the substrate with the film of water thereon, and removing the excess water to produce the bond.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
45 words
A method as claimed in claim 1, further comprising the steps of keeping a periphery-supported substrate in intimate contact with the crystal and then exposing the outer side of the substrate to a moist atmosphere until water penetrates through the substrate to provide the bond.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
14 words
A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said substrate is of polyimide polymer.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
25 words
A method as claimed in claim 3, wherein said crystal is selected from the group consisting of triglycine sulfate, triglycine fluoroberyllate and deuteroted triglycine fluoroberyllate.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
26 words
A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the substrate surface is made wettable by sequential deposition of ultra-thin layers of Cr and MgF 2 .
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
22 words
A method as claimed in claim 5, wherein the thickness of said ultra-thin layers is in the order of few hundreds Angstroms.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
15 words
A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the excess moisture is removed by centrifuging.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
38 words
A method as claimed in claim 7, wherein an external electric field is placed across the crystal layer and the substrate sufficient to form dipole fields therein whereby the pressure resulting from electric attraction expels the excess moisture.
