Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 12
Claim 1
Independent Claim 85 words
A method of simultaneously manufacturing a plurality of read/write inductive transducers comprising: a. pre-machining a plurality of air bearing sliders; b. mechanically constraining a plurality of said air bearing sliders in a fixture with the surfaces to receive read/write magnetic transducers facing outward from said fixture; c. filling spaces between said sliders with suitable filler material; d. hardening said filler material; e. polishing said transducer receiving surfaces; f. applying read/write magnetic transducers simultaneously to said sliders; and, g. removing said filler material from said sliders.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 25 words
The process of claim 1 including the step of polishing the air bearing surface of said air bearing sliders after removal of said filler material.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 11 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said filler material is polyimide.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 11 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said filler material is photopolymer.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 20 words
The process of claim 1 wherein a plurality of transducers are applied to each of said air bearing sliders simultaneously.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 27 words
The process of claim 1 including the step of applying a layer of non-magnetic and non-conductive material to said air bearing slider surface immediately after step e.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 30 words
The process of claim 6 including the step of polishing said layer of non-magnetic and non-conductive material prior to applying said read/write magnetic transducers to said non-magnetic and non-conductive material.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 15 words
The process of claim 6 wherein said non-magnetic and non-conductive material is SiO 2 .
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 17 words
The process of claim 6 wherein said non-magnetic and non-conductive material is Al 2 O 3 .
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 17 words
The process of claim 6 wherein said non-magnetic and non-conductive material is Si 3 N 4 .
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 21 words
The process of claims 1 or 5 wherein said read/write magnetic transducers are applied to said sliders by thin film techniques.
