Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 12
Claim 1
Independent Claim 114 words
A method for determining the presence of hepatitis B core antibody (HB c Ab) in biological fluid comprising (a) directly adhering hepatitis B core antigen (HB c Ag) derived from Dane particles to a solid surface wherein HB c Ag is adhered to the surface by adsorption in the presence of an amount of a nonionic surfactant having from about 15 to about 35 oxyethylene units effective to cause adherence, (b) contacting the surface with the biological fluid, (c) contacting the surface with a hepatitis B core antibody (HB c Ab)-enzyme conjugate, (d) contacting the surface with an enzyme substrate solution, and (e) measuring the optical density after development of the enzyme substrate solution.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 15 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein the biological fluid is blood, plasma or serum.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 12 words
A method according to claim 2 wherein the biological fluid is plasma.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 15 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein the nonionic surfactant is polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan monooleate.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 54 words
A diagnostic reagent comprising a solid surface having directly adhered thereto hepatitis B core antigen (HB c Ag) derived from Dane particles wherein HB c Ag is adhered by adsorption in the presence of a nonionic surfactant having from about 15 to about 35 oxyethylene units present in an amount effective to cause adherence.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 54 words
A diagnostic reagent comprising a solid surface having directly adhered thereto hepatitis B core antigen (HB c Ag) derived from Dane particles wherein HB c Ag is adhered by adsorption in the presence of a nonionic surfactant having from about 15 to about 35 oxyethylene units present in an amount effective to cause adherence.
