A method for cultivating an alga, which comprises growing the alga in a light field substantially free from light of wavelengths of not more than 340 nm.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 27 words
A method for cultivating an alga, which comprises growing the alga in a light field substantially free from light of wavelengths of not more than 340 nm.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 22 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said light field is substantially free from light of wavelengths of not more than 360 nm.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 22 words
The method of claim 1 wherein the light field is substantially free from light of wavelengths of not more than 380 nm.

Claim 6
Dependent Claim 48 words
The method of claim 1 wherein the cultivation is carried out by passing said light field through a covering material which substantially inhibits the transmission of light of wavelengths of not more than 380 nm and substantially permits transmission of light of wavelengths of at least 550 nm.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 21 words
The method of claim 1 wherein the alga belongs to Division Cyanophyta, Division Rhodophyta, Division Chrysophyta, Division Phaeophyta, or Division Chlorophyta.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 35 words
