Abstract

Abstract A ceramic honeycomb structure is provided with a plurality of open passages extending therethrough in an axial direction thereof. The wall thickness of at least one part of the open passages formed in an annular portion along an outer peripheral surface of the structure is made larger than that of the other open passages formed in the other portion than the annular portion, and the structure has excellent mechanical strength and thermal shock strength.
