Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 8
Claim 1
Independent Claim 88 words
A method of treating vaginal areas deficient in natural mucus, comprising the steps of: supplying a pituitous aqueous solution consisting essentially of about 0.3 to about 1.5 grams of polyacrylamide polymer per 100 cc of water, said polyacrylamide polymer having a molecular weight of at least about 3,000,000 and said solution having a pH in the range of about 3 to 10; and applying said solution to vaginal areas to form a stainless, odorless, nontoxic coating having lubricity, pituitousness and clingyness characteristics resembling those of natural vaginal mucus.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 18 words
The method of claim 1 in which said polyacrylamide polymer contains less than about 0.05% of acrylamide monomer.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 14 words
The method of claim 2 in which said aqueous solution includes a bacteriostatic agent.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 20 words
The method of claim 3 in which said solution has a pH in the range from about 5 to 8.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 16 words
The method of claim 4 in which said aqueous solution has a pH of about 5.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 14 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said polyacrylamide polymer is an anionic polyacrylamide polymer.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 22 words
The method of claim 6 in which said anionic polyacrylamide polymer has approximately 26-35% of its amide groups substituted by carboxyl groups.
