Abstract

Abstract A process for the lubrication of a tool surface which comprises high pressure blast spraying a powder lubricant having a particle size of 0.6 to 1.5 μ at a spray pressure of 4 to 5 bar, onto the tool surface thereby producing a high temperature compacted coherent lubricant film on the surface while simultaneously smoothing, strengthening and compressively stressing the tool surface.
