Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim 49 words
A method for treating coal particles having surface moisture to reduce the cohesive strength of such coal particles when frozen which comprises spraying the coal particles prior of freezing with an effective amount of a hydrocarbon liquid solution of a nonionic surfactant having a HLB between 9.5 and 11.0.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 49 words
A method for treating coal particles having surface moisture to reduce the cohesive strength of such coal particles when frozen which comprises spraying the coal particles prior of freezing with an effective amount of a hydrocarbon liquid solution of a nonionic surfactant having a HLB between 9.5 and 11.0.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 21 words
The method of claim 1 where the hydrocarbon oil surfactant solution contains between 0.5-10% by weight of water as a cosolvent.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 19 words
The method of claim 1 where the nonionic surfactant is dinonyl phenol reacted with 8.8 moles of ethylene oxide.
