Claim 1
Independent Claim 58 words
A process for the production of a cyanoalkanoic acid comprising reacting a haloalkanoic acid in the presence of an alkaline acting material with a cyanohydrin of the formula ##STR2## where R 1 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms and R 2 is alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the presence of water.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 58 words
A process for the production of a cyanoalkanoic acid comprising reacting a haloalkanoic acid in the presence of an alkaline acting material with a cyanohydrin of the formula ##STR2## where R 1 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms and R 2 is alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the presence of water.
Claim 3
