Abstract
Abstract A dry electric cell of the Leclanche type having a cathode mix which includes (i) MnO 2 having a β-crystal structure, and (ii) either hetaerolite (ZnO.Mn 2 O 3 ) or materials which enable hetaerolite to be generated in situ at a sufficiently rapid rate so that it constitutes the major discharge product even at moderate to high rates of discharge.
