Abstract
Abstract Alkoxymethylbenzophenones having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is hydrocarbon of 1 to 20 carbon atoms, alkoxy-substituted alkylene where the alkylene moiety has 2 to 12 carbon atoms and the alkoxy 1 to 12 carbon atoms or --(CH 2 CH 2 O) n --R" wherein R" is alkyl of 1 to 12 carbon atoms and n is an integer from 2 to 5; R' is hydrogen, halogen or --CH 2 OR; and x and y are independently selected integers from 1 to 5. The alkoxymethylbenzophenones are useful photoinitiators for compositions comprising photopolymerizable ethylenically unsaturated compounds.
