Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 51 words
A method for improving photodegradability of plastic polyolefin compositions which comprises physically contacting plastic polyolefin compositions which are resistant to photodegradation with a minor proportion of polyisobutylene sufficient to accelerate the photodegradation of the plastic polyolefin, said polyisobutylene having a number average molecular weight of from about 400 to about 900.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 51 words
A method for improving photodegradability of plastic polyolefin compositions which comprises physically contacting plastic polyolefin compositions which are resistant to photodegradation with a minor proportion of polyisobutylene sufficient to accelerate the photodegradation of the plastic polyolefin, said polyisobutylene having a number average molecular weight of from about 400 to about 900.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 22 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein the polyisobutylene has a number average molecular weight of from about 400 to about 700.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 11 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein the polyolefin is polyethylene.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 29 words
A method according to claim 3 wherein the polyisobutylene is applied to the surface of the plastic polyethylene by dipping said polyethylene into a hydrocarbon solution of the polyisobutylene.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 33 words
A method according to claim 4 wherein the polyisobutylene is present on the surface of the plastic polyolefin in an amount from about 1 to 3 percent by weight based on the polyethylene.
