Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 43 words
A process for forming shaped alumina pellets which comprises mixing alumina hydrate with water and a hydrolyzeable titanium compound, hydrolyzing the titanium compound under substantially non-acid conditions to form hydrated titanium oxide, forming said mixture into a pellet, drying and calcining said pellet.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 43 words
A process for forming shaped alumina pellets which comprises mixing alumina hydrate with water and a hydrolyzeable titanium compound, hydrolyzing the titanium compound under substantially non-acid conditions to form hydrated titanium oxide, forming said mixture into a pellet, drying and calcining said pellet.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 26 words
The process of claim 1 in which said titanium compound is titanium tetrachloride and said titanium tetrachloride is hydrolyzed by mixing the same with a base.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 46 words
The process of claim 1 in which the hydrolyzeable compound is an organo-titanium compound chosed from the group consisting of the alkyl titanates Ti(OR) 4 where the alkyl radical R is C 3 or C 4 or C 6 or C 8 and the titanium chelates.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 14 words
The process of claim 3 in which the organo-titanium compound is tetra isopropyl titanate.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 134 words
The process of claim 1 in which the calcined aluminum pellet contains from about 1 to about 40% of titania based on the weight of the alumina expressed as Al 2 O 3 and titania expressed as TiO 2 , adding to said pellet a water solution of salt of a member chosen from the group consisting of the salts of Group VIII and Group VI-B metals, and mixtures thereof, the total weight of said salts being from about 5 to about 30% of the weight of the pellet on a volatile free basis, expressed as the metal with the atomic weight ratio of Group VIII metal to Group VI-B metal being from about 1:0.3 to about 1:10, all based on the weight of metal element plus the substrate, drying and calcining said pellet.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 26 words
The process of claim 5 in which the titanium compound is titanium tetrachloride and the titanium tetrachloride is hydrolyzed by mixing the same with a base.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 13 words
The process of claim 4 in which the organo-titanium compound is isopropyl titanate.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 9 words
The process of claim 5 and sulfiding said catalyst.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 9 words
The process of claim 6 and sulfiding said catalyst.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 9 words
The process of claim 7 and sulfiding said catalyst.
