Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim
77 words
A method for producing a thin, flexible electrode comprising the steps: (a) blending together an active material powder with a minor amount of an ethylene acrylic acid polymer powder to form a dry electrode mix; and (b) compressing the dry electrode mix with a pressure between about 500 and about 10,000 pounds per square inch and heating it to a temperature of between about 60° C. and about 93° C. to form a thin, flexible electrode stock.
Claim 2
Independent Claim
77 words
A method for producing a thin, flexible electrode comprising the steps: (a) blending together an active material powder with a minor amount of an ethylene acrylic acid polymer powder to form a dry electrode mix; and (b) compressing the dry electrode mix with a pressure between about 500 and about 10,000 pounds per square inch and heating it to a temperature of between about 60° C. and about 93° C. to form a thin, flexible electrode stock.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
48 words
The method of claim 1 wherein the electrode mix is a cathode mix and in step (a) the active material powder is selected from the group consisting of manganese dioxide, silver oxide (monovalent and/or divalent), mercury oxide, copper oxide, iron sulfide, nickel oxide, nickel hydroxide and mixtures thereof.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
36 words
The method of claim 1 wherein the electrode mix is an anode mix and in step (a) the active material powder is selected from the group consisting of zinc, lead, aluminum, magnesium, cadmium and mixtures thereof.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
40 words
The method of claim 1 wherein the ethylene acrylic acid polymer powder in step (a) is in an amount of between about 0.5 and about 15 weight percent based on the weight of the dry constituents of the electrode mix.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
13 words
A thin, flexible electrode made in accordance with the method of claim 1.
