Abstract
Abstract Expandable particles of a styrene polymer containing therein 3 to 8% by weight of a blowing agent and having a particle size of 0.8 to 0.25 mm. in diameter, or their pre-expanded particles, which comprises an ester of sucrose represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R 1 , R 2 and R 3 each represent a hydrogen atom, an alkanoyl group having 6 to 22 carbon atoms or an alkenoyl group having 6 to 22 carbon atoms; and all of R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are not hydrogen atoms at the same time, or its derivative, said ester of sucrose or its derivative being coated on the surface of said particles.
