Abstract A soap for a scouring pad comprising a partially neutralized alkali metal salt of a fatty acid, said fatty acid having an average carbon atom number of 16 to 20 and an iodine value of 30 to 45, the degree of neutralization of the fatty acid with the alkali metal being from 85 to 98% by weight.
