Abstract
Abstract Opaque release sheet bearing a coating on one side thereof comprising a primary release agent in the form of air-containing microcapsular opacifiers in combination with a minor amount of a secondary release agent, such as a silicone polyglycol copolymer, a methoxysilane, polyethylene, a metal complex or the like, and the opposite side coated with a tacky, pressure-sensitive adhesive. A laminate comprising a substrate carrying a layer of said adhesive adjacent a layer comprising the aforesaid release composition.

A pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet which comprises a substrate having a surface thereof coated with a tacky, pressure-sensitive adhesive, and the opposite surface thereof coated with a release composition, said release composition comprising three separate ingredients, said first ingredient being a primary release agent consisting essentially of discrete, substantially spherical, air-containing microcapsules, said second ingredient being binder for adhering said microcapsules to said sheet, and said third ingredient being between about 1 and about 30 percent by weight of said air-containing microcapsules on a dry basis of a secondary release agent, said secondary release agent improving the release properties of said release composition as compared with said release composition omitting said secondary release agent.
