Abstract
Abstract When a stationary beam is caused to impinge upon a deflecting mirror surface disposed parallel to the rotation axis of a deflecting mirror, from a finite angle with respect to a plane crossing both the rotation axis and the deflecting mirror at right angles therewith, the path of the scanning beam reflected from the deflecting mirror surface becomes conically shaped. This specification discloses a scanning device including a correcting optical element for changing the conical path of the scanning beam to a linear path.
