Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 132 words
A method of improving the milk production of dairy cows, which comprises feeding to said cows as part of their feed diet a composition or complex of 2-hydroxy-4-(methylthio) butyric acid methionine hydroxy analog and a fungal enzyme derived from a microorganism of the genus Aspergillus, the methionine hydroxy analog being present in an amount of 5-20% by weight of the composition and being in particulate form, with the particles thereof being coated with a powder of synthetic flavoring agent which masks the taste of the methionine and fungal enzyme being present in an amount of 0.5-5% by weight of the composition and a buffer in the amount of 2-6% by weight, the composition or complex being fed in an amount to provide 20-40 g./day of the methionine hydroxy analog to each cow.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 19 words
The method according to claim 1 wherein the methionine hydroxy analog is provided in an amount of 20-30 g./day.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 20 words
The method according to claim 1 wherein the additive is fed as a top dressing on a dairy feed mash.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 72 words
An animal feed additive comprising a composition or complex of (a) about 5-20% by weight of (methylthio) butyric acid methionine hydroxy analog in particulate form, with the particles thereof being coated with a powder of synthetic flavoring agent which masks the taste of the methionine, (b) 0.5-5% by weight of a fungal enzyme derived from a microorganism of the genus Aspergillus and (c) a buffer in the amount of 2-6% by weight.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 72 words
An animal feed additive comprising a composition or complex of (a) about 5-20% by weight of (methylthio) butyric acid methionine hydroxy analog in particulate form, with the particles thereof being coated with a powder of synthetic flavoring agent which masks the taste of the methionine, (b) 0.5-5% by weight of a fungal enzyme derived from a microorganism of the genus Aspergillus and (c) a buffer in the amount of 2-6% by weight.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 11 words
A feed additive according to claim 4 which includes essential nutrients.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 21 words
A feed additive according to claim 5 wherein the essential nutrients include major and trace minerals, salt, vitamins and protein sources.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 15 words
A feed additive according to claim 6 wherein the enzyme is derived from Aspergillus oryzae.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 24 words
A feed additive according to claim 6 wherein the buffer is selected from sodium, potassium and calcium bicarbonate or mixtures thereof with magnesium oxide.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 13 words
A feed additive according to claim 6 blended with a dairy feed mash.
