Abstract {PG,1 A dentifrice composition is provided which contains a compound having the formula (R{HD f{l ){hd m{l YX wherein R{HD f {l is a fluoroaliphatic radical having from about 4 to 16 carbon atoms; Y is a calcium-complexing moiety; X is a terminal group which does not interfere with the complexing ability of said calcium-complexing moiety; and m is an integer of at least one. A method of inhibiting plaque formation in an oral environment is also provided.
