An anhydrous paste, cream or gel dentifrice composition which contains about 10 to 90% by weight of a liquid vehicle including an orally-acceptable oil having a viscosity ranging from about 100 to about 300 centipoises at 70° F., about 0.1 to about 10% of a dipeptide sweetener having the formula ##STR2## wherein R is C 1-2 alkyl and about 0.1 to about 15% of an orally acceptable acid anhydride.
