Abstract

Abstract This invention relates to a heat recoverable article having a self contained heat source comprising a heat recoverable polymer and a material capable of undergoing an exothermic chemical reaction said exothermic material being attached to the outer surface of said heat recoverable polymer, wherein, the outer surface of said polymer material is enclosed in a container having separate compartments containing two materials which react to produce heat, the partition between said materials being capable of being destroyed upon the application of tension or a shearing force to provide for mixing of the materials.
