Abstract

Abstract A radiation detector having at least one radiation sensitive element with more than two electrical contacts. The effects of noise occurring between pairs of contacts are substantially eliminated by multiplying at least two partial signals appearing between two of the contacts. The detector is particularly suitable for use as a passive infrared detector and as a flame detector.
