Claim 1
Independent Claim 95 words
In a process for treating titanium dioxide pigments and iron oxide pigments with a dispersing agent in order to improve their dispersibility in organic and aqueous media, the improvement comprising utilizing at least one ester of at least two moles of an aliphatic carboxylic acid having 6 to 18 carbon atoms in the molecule and selected from the group consisting of alkanoic acids, alkenoic acids, hydroxy substituted alkanoic acids and hydroxy substituted alkenoic acids with a mole of a tertiary alkylolamine selected from the group consisting of triethanolamine and an N-methyl-diethanolamine as the dispersing agent.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 95 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 11 words
The process of claim 1, wherein the ester is fully esterified.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 31 words
The process of claim 1, wherein the ester is used in an amount of from 0.05 to 4 percent by weight, relative to the weight of the pigment to be treated.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 31 words
The process of claim 3, wherein the ester is used in an amount of from 0.1 to 1.0 percent by weight, relative to the weight of the pigment to be treated.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 14 words
The process of claim 1, wherein the pigment to be treated is titanium dioxide.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 11 words
The process of claim 1, wherein the ester is partially esterified.
Claim 8
